Position 2: save the Environment
I recently did a project on Green Computing and I learned alot about the impact that our electronics leave on the planet. I think the advancing technology is very important in our world today. We have computers that do anything. But there are very harmful toxins that go into a computer. Proper discarding of the electronics can help to cut down on the E-waste that is harming our earth. There are other ways that we can be more economicly friendly while using our computers

Propor discarding of the computers are a huge part in saving the environment. Computers contain harmful toxins like lead, copper, and mercury. Some companies can take the computer apart and reuse parts of it. There are many electronic recycling companies that can dispose of these in careful ways, but you have to becareful because some companies are sending their computers to other countries like china. These other countries don't have the correct practices in taking apart these computers so they pile up in their land fills. The toxins will leak into the earth and they cause lead and mercury poisening.

I don't think that it is the computers that are harming the environment, I think it is the people behind the computer that is harning the environment. If everyone tried to be more environmentally friendly this problem would be decreased. By recycling to keep these harmful toxins out of the earth, and saving power, by being more efficient we can solve this problem
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_computing
